Meet our Founder, Rochelle Renee

Rochelle Renee, the visionary behind this innovative matchmaking community, is from the 7600 block of Maple Avenue in Takoma Park, Maryland. Growing up in a diverse neighborhood, Rochelle developed a deep appreciation for the richness of human connections. After graduating from Montgomery Blair High School, she pursued her passion for understanding society by earning a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Bowie State University.

After college, Rochelle ventured into a variety of professions, exploring different facets of life. In 2007, she had a revelation that would shape her future. Rochelle discovered a keen interest in the vibrant world of nightlife and embarked on a career in the club industry. It was within this electrifying environment that Rochelle honed her event planning skills, by learning to orchestrate unforgettable nights for countless patrons. Her dedication and talent lead her to eventually take the bold step of starting her own events.

In 2021, Rochelle couldn't ignore the cries of loneliness echoing from singles struggling with isolation during the pandemic. Driven by empathy and a desire to bridge the gap, she embarked on a journey of research into the intricacies of relationships. Particularly Rochelle wanted to know why were so many eligible singles really were single.

By 2022, Rochelle had an awakening. She realized that the disconnection between people and relationships was deeply rooted in the dependency on technology, which had depersonalized human interaction.  Additionally, many singles were attempting to find love via dating apps, yet, were failing. This realization crystallized her vision into what she aptly named "an alternative to online dating" – The Single Mingle DMV.

The launch of this groundbreaking dating concept took place at the heart of Washington, D.C., within the stylish confines of The Park at 14th.  On Valentine’s Day weekend 2023, Rochelle's dedication and commitment shone brightly as she introduced a refreshing approach to connecting singles, in person!

Rochelle is a multi-faceted entrepreneur. In addition to her work with The Single Mingle DMV, she owns a hair company known as "Ms. Rochelle Renee," where she combines her creativity and passion for beauty to create stunning hair solutions for her clients. Furthermore, Rochelle has introduced a fresh concept called "Matched by Rochelle Renee," further solidifying her reputation as both a certified and experienced matchmaker with a unique twist.

Currently calling Silver Spring, MD, home, Rochelle has cultivated a thriving network of over 11,,000 singles spanning Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, and its neighboring regions. Rochelle’s mission? To unite intentional couples who are seeking lasting, loving relationships.
